TV fans can finally binge some of the ‘best shows’ for free this weekend
Apple TV Plus has delighted TV lovers with its ‘beyond genius’ move to make all its content free to watch this weekend.
The subscription streaming service normally costs £8.99 a month to access its impressive collection of TV shows and movies from star-studded originals to acclaimed new releases.
But to celebrate a fresh year of brand-new content the major streamer is making all of its coveted content totally free to watch for one weekend only.
This means you can catch Gary Oldman’s starring turn in the spy thriller series Slow Horses, or perhaps you want to experience Hailee Steinfeld as American poet Emily Dickinson in the riotously joyous Dickinson.
We’ve got the acclaimed Bad Sisters featuring Sharon Horgan, the widely-praised Pachinko, and the beloved football comedy Ted Lasso.
But it doesn’t end with TV shows.
For movie watchers, you can catch Saoirse Ronan in World War Two drama Blitz or have a laugh with the conspiracy comedy Fly Me To the Moon with Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum.
‘This is the smartest thing a streamer has done in years. Beyond genius,’ @artan_ayan wrote on X.
‘The streamer with some of the best shows is letting y’all watch for free. Take advantage of this,’ @hiimbobbi added.
‘Take this opportunity to watch all 4 seasons of Slow Horses rated best show of the year on Rotten Tomatoes,’ @anna_liz2020 recommended.
‘Not f**king joking when I say you need to take advantage of this and watch Severance this weekend,’ @precambrianslut added, ahead of Severance season two later this month.
‘Apple TV+ is my favourite streaming service. Take advantage of this. Pig out on Bad Sisters, lose your mind with Severance.
‘Let yourself go with Slow Horses, find a new family with Shrinking and explore an alternate world with For All Mankind. All well worth your time,’ @lukecustardtv praised.
‘Well now y’all have no excuse but to tap into the Apple TV+ shows we won’t stop talking about,’ @paulswthn shared.
How and when to watch Apple TV Plus for free
In order to access the streamer’s catalogue of TV and films you simply visit the Apple TV Plus website or access via the app on a device where Apple TV Plus is available.
Per the website, all you’ll need is an Apple ID ‘to see what all the buzz is about’ and get an ‘all-access pass’.
Among its many suggestions, the streamer wrote: ‘Get your mind blown by celebrated sci-fi series like Dark Matter, For All Mankind and Foundation.’
Apple TV Plus will be free to watch on Saturday, January 4 and Sunday, January 5, 2025.
There’s a whole world of A-List talent at your fingertips for over 48 hours, so make sure you don’t miss out.
