Supergirl Star Reveals First Look at Logo

Thanks to David Krumholtz of “The Santa Clause” fame, we’ve gotten our very first glimpse at the official logo for next year’s “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”… or perhaps just “Supergirl”? Krumholtz shared a picture of his set chair on his official Instagram page, announcing he’d wrapped his part of the film. The first image showed just his character’s name – Zor-El, Supergirl’s father – while the second unveiled the logo. You can see the images below.

Krumholtz captioned his images with, “Wrapped! Incredible experience working on #Supergirl with @millyalcock @emily_beecham Thanks, Craig Gillespie, Peter Safran & @jamesgunn and an absolutely incredible London-based cast & crew! @dcofficial.”

The image shows the same S logo from the upcoming “Superman” but with “SUPERGIRL” blazoned across it. It begs the question of whether or not, like “Superman”, which was originally going to be called “Superman: Legacy” – “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” has likewise changed its name to simply “Supergirl”.

Whatever it’s called, when it bows next June, it won’t be the first live-action “Supergirl” film. A “Supergirl” starring Helen Slater as the titular hero was released in 1984, spinning out of the film series starring Christopher Reeve. Unfortunately, the film only made $14.3 million, not even half of its $35 million production budget.

More recently, a “Supergirl” TV series launched in 2015 on CBS with Melissa Benoist as the lead. The series eventually moved to The CW and crossed over with shows like “The Flash” and “Arrow.” “Supergirl,” the series lasted 6 seasons, shuttering in 2021.

The official logline for “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” reads, “While celebrating her 21st birthday, Kara Zor-El travels across the galaxy with Krypto, during which she meets the young Ruthye and embarks on a ‘murderous quest for revenge’.” The film is based on the acclaimed 2021-22 miniseries of the same name, written by Tom King and drawn by Bilquis Evely.

“Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” releases in theaters June 26, 2026. The film is directed by Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira. The feature stars Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.

While we have to wait until next year to meet Supergirl, we’ll get to meet her cousin a lot sooner. James Gunn’s long-awaited “Superman” hits theaters July 11 starring David Corenswet as the eponymous Man of Steel.
