Netflix’s latest dating show, Cheat: Unfinished Business, has been likened to Game of Thrones due to the ‘intense drama’ it promises.

The series, hosted by Amanda Holden, is available from today (April 30) with all nine episodes dropping simultaneously.Joining Holden in hosting duties is relationship expert Paul C Brunson, known for his appearances on Married At First Sight UK and Celebs Go Dating.

The Netflix synopsis reveals that the show follows eight former couples whose relationships were shattered by infidelity. As they reunite at a luxury retreat in sunny Spain, each pair will be guided through their issues.

The aim is for them to confront their past mistakes, rebuild trust, and move forward – either together or separately. Will the cheaters manage to secure forgiveness and reclaim the hearts of those they wronged? Or will they have to bid farewell to their relationship for good?

Holden has offered her insights into the show, sharing her experiences from filming and what viewers can anticipate. She describes her role as being a friend to the couples, providing a sympathetic ear and emphasising that cheating doesn’t make them bad people, reports Surrey Live.

The Britain’s Got Talent star opened up about her role, saying: “I would describe myself as a favourite aunt that comes in, keeps the action flowing, moves the show on and offers a shoulder to cry on when it’s needed.”

She then delved into the intensity of the Reckoning Room, revealing: “And (I also), you know, wear fabulous dresses in the Reckoning Room, which is this very intense room where the couples all have to sit face to face and thrash out their feelings, warts and all, nothing is off the table in that room.”

Reflecting on her experience during filming in the infamous Reckoning Room, Amanda confessed: “Oh my God. I’ll never forget when I first walked in there, that table is endless and the flames down it are so intense. It was hot, it was dark, and there is no escape route except the door behind me.

“So they have no choice but to face their fears, look their ex in the eye and get the truth out. So it was brilliant. It was hugely dramatic. I felt like I was in an episode of Game of Thrones, it was that dramatic. The emotions in there are insanely raw because there’s no hiding. Expect lots of pain, anger, tears, all the real emotions. It’s intense.”

Insisting on the authenticity of the show’s drama, Amanda highlighted the stark difference from some other reality TV by stating: “(The drama) is not manufactured. The drama comes from the bravery of these couples to put real feelings and emotions on the line.”

She went on to say: “For many of them this is the first time they’ve really addressed the betrayal, and of course that’s dramatic and raw when it happens, it’s edge of your seat stuff. But it’s totally natural, nothing’s been created to make drama happen, we didn’t need to. There was so much unfolding naturally that we weren’t expecting, even potential new romances, but we were able to let the story naturally take its course whilst we watched. You are watching these people in real time and you can’t quite believe what’s happening.”
