Bell’s new Ateko brand aims to support businesses with AI

BCE, Bell’s parent company, is launching a new tech services brand called Ateko. This brand unites recently acquired tech companies FX Innovation, HGC, Technologies, and CloudKettle under one umbrella.
Ateko is designed to service clients in telecommunications, media, technology, public sector, utilities, and finance. Additionally, the company believes it will be able to help businesses use AI to streamline operations, cut costs, and boost productivity. This is part of Bell’s transition from a telecom company to a tech services and digital media company.
Bell believes that Ateko will help the company build a $1 billion tech services business.
In recent news, Bell has had a lot of layoffs.
Earlier this year, Bell offered a voluntary separation to 1,200 union workers. Additionally, Bell has slashed 7,000 jobs nationwide in less than two years, according to a newswire from Manitoba’s Team union.
That figure includes 4,800 job cuts from a restructuring plan in 2024, which saw 1,000 layoffs at The Source, 120 layoffs at Expertech, and a 50-person cut at Bell Media. And then, in more recent news, Bell Media laid off another 100 workers.
